A member of the Good Earth Family of Companies, GreenScaped Buildings specializes in the design, installation, and maintenance of green roofs, living walls, edible walls, and rainwater harvesting systems.

We are certified installers for Roof Meadow, LiveRoof Green Roof Modules, Elevated Landscape Technology Green Walls, KISS Irrigation Systems, DIRRT Green Wall Systems, and GLT Green Walls.

Additionally, we are local representatives for Nedlaw Bio-filtration green walls, and RainHarvest Systems.

HISTORY

Jim Mumford and the team of plant specialists at Good Earth Plants, Inc. founded GreenScaped Buildings in 2007 after learning about the benefits and how beautiful green roofs, and living walls could be. The new division would focus on offering green roof design, consulting, and installation services to our clients.

Since the concept was fairly new we had no idea how our clients and the community would respond but decided to give it a try. The first step was to create a living lab on site and begin testing our designs, and the available technologies. We retrofitted our Kearny Mesa headquarters with (possibly) the first permitted green roof in California.
For this roof, we chose to use a 3” deep built-up system and use all native plants to span the 1,800 sq. ft. green roof. We slowly evolved to other types and plants and today’s roof includes a wide variety of sedums, succulents, bulbs and even bromeliads.

We added living walls to our mix in 2009. To date we have installed 30+ green roofs and living walls for our clients ranging in size from a few dozen square feet to over 5,000 square feet.

Our clients include Sharp Memorial, UCSD, Mario Batali, and SDG&E to name a few.
